About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978, is a community-based organization committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos in Washington State. Our State-approved Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program offers a meaningful pathway into healthcare for individuals who are passionate about serving others and building a long-term career in community health. This 12-month program combines 2,000 hours of paid clinical training with structured coursework to prepare apprentices to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. Apprentices work alongside experienced care teams in a patient-centered medical home model, helping ensure every patient receives respectful, high-quality care. This apprenticeship is more than a job — it is an investment in your future and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • CPR certification
  • Commitment to completing required coursework
  • Dedication to serving diverse and underserved communities

Responsibilities

  • Support providers in delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and assist with exams and procedures
  • Track clinical quality measures and support care coordination
  • Administer immunizations within scope
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve health outcomes
