About The Position

Medical Assistant Adjunct faculty work with MA students in laboratory sites, or classroom as assigned by the Division Chair of Allied Health or Administrative Program Coordinator. These Medical Assistant instructors are Certified Medical Assistants (CMA or RMA) who have acquired significant competence and practical experience in the medical assisting field. They guide and teach MA students, evaluating student performance and providing feedback. Medical assisting faculty and/or instructional staff must direct student learning and assess progress in achieving the requirements of the program in the appropriate learning domains.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Three years’ experience as a medical assistant (or equivalent).
  • Current and competent in the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives included in their assigned teaching, as evidenced by education and/or experience.
  • Instruction in educational theory and techniques may be demonstrated by documentation of completed college courses, seminars or in-service sessions on topics including, but not limited to, learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodology, or assessment techniques.
  • CMA or RMA Licensure # on application (under skills and qualifications).
