About The Position
The Medical Aide works directly in an assigned classroom, assisting students with activities of daily living and helping implement activities designed to address student goals. The role includes assisting with feeding, personal care, and student transitions, as well as supporting teachers and therapists. The position requires completion of teaching assistant certification and may involve lifting and moving individuals, including use of a mechanical lift device as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of teaching assistant certification is required.
- Must regularly lift or move individuals; may need to lift 50 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance from another staff member.
- Use a mechanical lift device as assigned.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 18 college credits is preferred.
