The Medical Advanced Practice Provider will be a vital part of the Northpoint team, offering consultation and medical/administrative direction to staff in various treatment settings. This role involves direct patient care, including diagnostic assessment, preventative and educational services, and medication management, all while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and adhering to best practices, industry standards, organizational guidelines, and legal requirements. The position also requires significant communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Nursing with specialty from an accredited program
Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state where services are rendered, with prescriptive privileges (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - FNP/APRN/ARNP)
Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate
Valid National Provider Identification (NPI) number
Current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (KIPU)
Enthusiasm and passion for working with people and improving lives
Minimum of two (2) years of experience required
Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout duration of employment
Ability to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients in the area of assigned specialty
Demonstrated ability to hold strong personal boundaries and build rapport with patients
Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board

Responsibilities

Provide advanced medical and psychiatric services consistent with ethical guidelines and company policies.
Conduct health assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and medical exams.
Perform medication evaluation, initiation, and short-term management.
Order and interpret lab tests for patients.
Consult with physicians and providers on ongoing medical care, maintenance, and disease prevention.
Engage in case management and education processes.
Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to the multidisciplinary team.
Document patient care and behavior information as required.
Participate in patient treatment planning and implementation under the direction of the Medical Director.
Utilize de-escalation skills when necessary to ensure safety.
Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team on treatment and discharge planning.
Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and scope of licensure.
Monitor patients ongoingly to assess needs and facilitate medical treatment.
Document medical assessments, diagnoses, progress notes, and other treatment planning items in a timely manner.
Maintain professional boundaries with patients.
Oversee and participate in quality assurance and compliance activities.
Provide medical updates to utilization review and managed care representatives.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with policies and standards of care.
Perform other medically appropriate services and special projects as assigned.
