About The Position

Pacific Skin Institute is seeking a motivated candidate with a team-centered attitude for a Medical Administrative Assistant position at our Sacramento Administrative Office. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, helping people obtain the services they need, and ensuring patients feel comfortable when seeing a doctor. This is a Health Administration role, involving no face-to-face patient contact. All communication with patients and providers will be conducted over the phone or via our electronic medical records system (Epic) from the Administrative office.

Requirements

  • Spanish Speaking
  • Proficiency in using the Epic EMR system
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls

Responsibilities

  • Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner and provide exemplary customer service
  • Schedule all appointments and ensure all appropriate clinical information is collected for efficient workflow
  • Coordinate patient care and support clinical staff in response to incoming phone calls from patients
  • Answer incoming calls for 4 different clinic locations
  • Communicate with provider teams to ensure timely access to care for patients
  • Provide accurate patient information for daily viewing by all departments
  • Maintain open communication with all staff members to ensure quality patient care
  • Schedule new and return patient appointments and procedures
  • Assist in processing incoming patient referrals & faxes
  • Communicate with patients and providers via telephone and EMR messaging system for approximately 75% of day-to-day communication
  • Utilize waitlist/call-back lists to fill provider schedules
  • Answer approximately 70 patient phone calls each day
