About The Position

This job posting is a hub for multiple openings for Medical Administrative Assistants (MAA) across Mayo Clinic in Arizona. These positions include roles such as Medical Admin Assistant Float Team (All Campuses), Cardiovascular (Scottsdale), CCM Operations (Phoenix Campus), Transplant Services (Phoenix Campus), Hem/Onc (Phoenix Campus), Physical Medicine & Rehab Practice Support (Phoenix Campus), HIMS Operations (Phoenix Campus), Department of Surgery (Phoenix Campus), Orthopedics (Phoenix), Family Medicine (Phoenix), GYN (Phoenix), Neurology (Phoenix), GI Hepatology (Scottsdale), Surgery (Phoenix), Infectious Disease (Phoenix), Ophthalmology (Scottsdale), Urology (Phoenix), and Sports Medicine (Tempe). The MAA functions as an ambassador of the practice, serving as a liaison to patients, internal and external referring physicians, and allied health staff. The role requires providing superior customer service through handling a high volume of telephone calls and possessing a good understanding of the department/division's unique characteristics and operations to proficiently support the practice. Principal functions include facilitating patient access, appropriately responding to patient inquiries, and accommodating referring physician requests. Additional duties may include routing patient concerns, calendar and schedule maintenance, and handling physician mail. During the selection process, candidates may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that can be completed at their convenience. A question will appear on the screen, and candidates will have time to consider and respond, with the option to re-record their answer. The complete interview will be reviewed by Mayo Clinic staff, and candidates will be notified of next steps. Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position, including F1 OPT STEM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years of secretarial, back office/front office experience in a physician's office or customer service role required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer experience with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize workload.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
