Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs, the Media Teaching Artist role is responsible for co-leading project-based film production courses for youth ages 11 - 18 in Fall 2026. We’re seeking a creative, consistent, and resourceful media producer and educator. BAYCAT empowers 200+ young creators yearly, guiding them through the media-making process. They collaborate with 250+ partners, bridging the digital divide for 4,700+ youths over 17 years. They provide paid media arts training for young people while creating stories that progress social justice. The Media Teaching Artist will provide mentorship in media production in the afterschool youth program; curriculum development & ideation; and youth project management, collaboration, & team building. All team members are expected to understand and embrace the mission statement, in particular how it is reflected in the commitment to respect and represent diverse ideas, races, genders, sexualities, abilities, cultures, religions, and traditions. Team members are to work in a manner that is consistent with this commitment and work to interrupt behaviors that hinder diversity and inclusion efforts.
