Internship: Media Relations (Part-Time/Seasonal)

The Communications Intern will help oversee game night staff, coordinate media operations, assist with credentialing and press box management, and provide direct support to the communications team to ensure a first-class game-day experience for media and hockey operations staff. This role is ideal for someone passionate about hockey seeking communications experience with a professional sports team.
Requirements
- Organized, able to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced work environment.

- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-service oriented.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Flexibility to work at least 90% of Capitals home games (typical game night hours: 4-10:30 p.m.).
Nice To Haves
- Previous public relations, communications, or journalism experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the execution of game day services including media credentialing, press box and media lounge setup and stats distribution.
- Serve as a resource for visiting media and media relations personnel on game days.
- Help supervise Game Night Staff, ensuring all responsibilities are completed efficiently and professionally.
- Provide exceptional service and support to media members covering Capitals games.
- Assist Communications staff with additional game-day responsibilities, special projects, and departmental initiatives as assigned.
