About The Position
The Med Tech provides quality care and services to residents and their families, including assistance with medication administration according to each resident’s care plan and physician’s orders. The role is hourly and non-exempt, reports to the Director of Health & Wellness, and is available as full-time, part-time, or per diem. An active New Jersey CNA and/or HHA license is required. The position pays $23–$26 per hour.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey CNA and/or HHA license.
- Successful completion of Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing.
- Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least six months of experience working with seniors in personal care, home health, a hospital, or a long-term care environment.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Administer or assist with self-administration of prescribed medication and maintain related medical records under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN.
- Complete required annual medication training.
- Provide resident care in accordance with each resident’s care plan.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records and written documentation in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Maintain residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity when delivering services.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition, and emotional status to a supervisor.
