About The Position

The Med Tech/CNA caregiver assists elderly residents in an assisted living community with activities of daily living. This is an in-person, Friday and Saturday night position from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The posting describes the role as part-time in its opening, but later lists the job type as full-time. The caregiver documents and reports changes or concerns about residents’ conditions to the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) and nurse. Other duties may be assigned by the Administrator or RCC. The organization offers the possibility of earning CNA certification while working through its partnership with Utah CNA Training Centers. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check under Utah assisted living facility rules.

Requirements

Basic computer skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively.
Ability to work under pressure and manage critical situations calmly.
Good communication skills, including communicating with residents, staff, family members, and professionals and conveying sensitive information with empathy.
Positive, compassionate attitude and genuine love for the elderly.
Food handler’s permit, CPR/First Aid certification, and TB test required upon hire.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under Utah assisted living facility rules.

Nice To Haves

CNA certification; it is not required, and the employer offers the possibility of obtaining it while working.
Experience as a CNA or Med Tech.
At least one year of caregiving experience.
If under 18, being enrolled in a CNA course is requested to be disclosed.

Responsibilities

Assist elderly residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Document and notify the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) and nurse of changes or concerns regarding residents’ conditions.
Perform other duties assigned by the Administrator or RCC.
