Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Business discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing of mechanical components within the plastics molding and tooling industry
  • 3 - 5 years of proven project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in launching high-cosmetic consumer electronics products
  • Experience working with a global supply chain, including a background in project coordination with Asia-based manufacturers, both remotely and onsite
  • A solid working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), data analysis, and statistics
  • Proven, bottom-line project management experience, encompassing planning, cost management, and delivery
  • Evidenced success of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience to thrive in a deadline focused and time sensitive environment with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with root cause analysis of plastic and metal part defects
  • Proficiency in data analysis using JMP
  • PMP certification
  • Proven experience with insert molding, 2-shot molding, Metal Injection Molding (MIM), stamping, and die-casting
  • A working knowledge of plastic resins, metal removal processes, post-molding operations, coatings, sub-assembly, and testing

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Drive the day-to-day execution of tooling, molding, and secondary operations to meet overall program objectives. This includes a heavy focus on plastic and metal tooling release, tooling trial schedule oversight, and post-molding processes such as CNC, coating, assembly, and testing
  • Schedule and Risk Management: Create and maintain comprehensive program schedules, diligently track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. You will be responsible for prioritizing tasks for the Mechanical Operations team to ensure program success
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between engineering, operations, and our global supply base partners. Your ability to direct internal and external resources will be critical in meeting aggressive timelines, quality targets, and production volumes
  • Manufacturing Readiness: Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive engineering build and mass-production readiness for all mechanical components
  • Quality and Improvement: Champion failure analysis and corrective action (FACA) initiatives to drive continuous yield improvements and ensure the highest product quality
