About The Position
Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview Mechanical Testing Lab Technician Responsibilities Perform all tasks according to Steel Dynamics health, safety, and environmental requirements Ensure monitoring and measuring equipment is verified before use Collect and prepare samples for testing Perform and evaluate mechanical tests according to standard procedures Perform preventative maintenance on all testing lab equipment Report any issues to the Mechanical Testing Lab Lead Technician or the Testing Lab Supervisor Work with others to repair Mechanical Testing Lab equipment Maintain a high level of cleanliness inside and outside of the lab
Requirements
- Strong safety awareness
- Good communication skills (verbal, written & electronic)
- Self-Motivated and able to work consistently without direct supervision
- Works well with others and independently
- Quality & detail oriented
- Mechanically inclined
- Willing to work scheduled & unscheduled overtime
- Ability to work in extreme environments
- Ability to perform repetitive stretching, reaching, lifting and walking to support routine responsibilities.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
