About The Position

Civ Robotics develops geospatial automation and machine-control solutions for construction and solar teams. The company is building a local Texas support operation to provide training, technical support, and equipment service. The Mechanical Technician will be based at the Austin workshop and help establish the Texas service operation, preparing machinery for deployment, troubleshooting hydraulic and mechanical issues, and supporting equipment in the field. As the operation grows, the role may take on broader responsibility for managing the service center.

Requirements

At least 4 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy machinery or construction equipment.
Strong practical experience with hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Experience working on tracked or crawler equipment.
Ability to diagnose equipment problems and carry out repairs independently.
Willingness to travel and work in field environments.
A safety-conscious approach and willingness to take ownership of equipment maintenance.

Nice To Haves

Maintenance or repair experience with pile drivers or pile-driving equipment.
Experience installing GPS, navigation, or machine-control systems.
Experience helping run a workshop or service center, coordinating maintenance, or leading other technicians.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, including hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Service tracked or crawler machinery, including hydraulic hoses, lines, fittings, and related components.
Inspect and prepare incoming machines for field operation.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs at the Austin workshop and project sites.
Coordinate with the technical team on equipment-specific maintenance and troubleshooting.
Track service work, identify parts needs, and help organize workshop tools and maintenance processes.
Travel as needed to provide field service using a company-equipped mobile service vehicle.
