About The Position

LubeZone is hiring a Mechanical Technician to perform same-day light- and heavy-duty repairs in a service bay and through mobile work. The role handles repairs and inspections that get vehicles back on the road the same day. Work does not include engine teardowns or bodywork. Pay is listed at $18–$22 per hour, with the overview noting a starting rate of $20 per hour based on experience and commission opportunities tied to truck profitability.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
At least two years of hands-on mechanical technician experience in diesel, heavy-duty, or automotive repair.
Working knowledge of air brakes, wheel seals and bearings, torque procedures, A/C and electrical systems, tires, preventive maintenance, and diagnostic equipment.
Experience with forced regens, heavy-duty disc brakes, and airbag suspension systems.
Ability to complete DOT inspections and documentation in accordance with FMCSA standards.
Texas Commercial Inspector Certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
Basic computer and work-order skills.
Self-starter with clear customer and management communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Semi-truck and trailer experience preferred.
ASE certification preferred.
Mobile or on-site fleet repair experience preferred.
Automotive experience with some diesel exposure; training is available.

Responsibilities

Complete same-day light- and heavy-duty repairs, including brakes, wheel seals, bearings, air leaks, airbags, A/C, electrical systems, tires, forced regens, and DOT and trailer inspections.
Complete DOT inspections and related documentation in accordance with FMCSA standards.
