About The Position

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment throughout the casino property. The role helps ensure that gaming floors, hotel areas, kitchens, HVAC systems, and back-of-house operations run safely and efficiently and comply with regulatory and safety standards. The position reports to the Facilities Manager / Director of Facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues under time pressure.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any required gaming license or background clearance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity to use hand and power tools safely.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Customer-service mindset for guest-facing repairs.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Reliability and time management.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school or vocational training.
• Mechanical maintenance experience in a hotel, casino, resort, or large commercial facility.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors, elevators as applicable, and kitchen equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize downtime and disruption to casino operations.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls on a 24/7 rotating schedule, as required.
• Maintain and service plumbing, piping, valves, and mechanical controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records.
• Ensure work complies with local building codes, OSHA standards, and gaming regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or inspections.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in guest and back-of-house areas.
• Support special projects, renovations, and system upgrades as assigned.
