About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices. This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX, with full relocation provided. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and shop equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position ensures all systems and machinery operate efficiently and safely while supporting preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, or related field.
• Equivalent experience, military training, or vocational education may be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, or electromechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or field service environment preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a manufacturing equipment or field technician.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, VFDs, motors, and control systems.
• Familiarity with electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and shop equipment in satisfactory condition under the direction of the Equipment Maintenance Manager.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment faults.
• Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities as required to ensure equipment reliability.
• Document all repairs, parts usage, and PMs in the CMMS or similar maintenance software.
• Install, align, and calibrate mechanical and electrical components as needed.
• Use precision tools such as calipers, multimeters, and alignment devices for diagnostics.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
