Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product engineers and colleagues to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our air-conditioned, newly renovated engineering laboratories. We are seeking a first shift Laboratory Technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interpret mechanical/technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience working with mechanical equipment and manual inspection measurement devices
  • Must have troubleshooting and critical thinking experience/skills, with effective communication.
  • Personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, or laboratory environment.
  • Certifications in automotive/diesel mechanics, or proven expertise and experience
  • Certification in tig-welding, or proven expertise and experience
  • Machining, tool and die, or proven expertise and experience
  • Soldering/brazing experience using various alloys

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and inspect compressors or related hardware for existing and newly developed refrigeration products
  • Weld and fabricate compressors, fixtures, and hardware for non-standard prototype iterations as well as standard products
  • Utilize manual tig welders, mechanical hand tools, power tools, drills or mills, cutting or grinding tools, soldering/brazing torches, hydraulic presses, automated/manual fabrication equipment, electrical and leak testing equipment.
  • Utilize hand measurement devices (electrical/mechanical) and accurately document assembly/inspection results
  • Provide input for optimizing standard and non-standard work processes
  • Collaborate and work in both a team environment and individually
  • Perform various tasks related to the upkeep and maintenance of the lab
