About The Position

Employee will assemble parts into assemblies or sub-assemblies direct from blueprints or work orders. Adjust fit as required using hand and power tools to fabricate complex mechanical assemblies to specifications. Inspect and adjust completed assemblies to ensure specifications, tolerances and customer requirements are met. Experience in metal machining and have a working knowledge of metal turning/milling/shaping and grinding processes. Use precision measurement instruments to determine tolerances and uses that knowledge to perform complex mechanical inspections regularly assists others in complex inspections. Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine proper assembly sequences and has the ability to identify and suggest process improvements. Must have the ability to select the correct tool needed to do the job, regularly makes decisions on tooling requirement for specific tasks. Monitors the assembly process and actively evaluates materials, process and environment and uses sound judgment to detect potential problems. Candidate is an active participant in "NPI" and uses experience and training to make tooling and process suggestions for new products. Must be able to uses mathematics to define or solve complex mechanical assembly problems. Must be a self-starter. Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years' experience
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings
  • Verifiable experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to read, understand, and complete projects based on blueprints
  • Experience in metal machining
  • Working knowledge of metal turning/milling/shaping and grinding processes
