Mechanical R&D Technician

We are seeking a Mechanical Integration Technician to assemble complex mechanical prototypes for our AI Robotics company based in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a related industry, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to understand and debug complex mechanical systems. The responsibilities of this role include assembling all mechanical parts of the robot, developing and maintaining assembly procedures, overseeing actuator and robot build labs, and helping to debug persistent hardware issues during robot testing. Bonus qualifications include CATIA experience and previous experience building and debugging robots.

• Assemble all mechanical parts of the robot, from actuators, to full robots
• Have a complete understanding of the robot and how everything fits together
• Responsible for developing, vetting and maintaining assembly and disassembly procedures for all components
• Responsible for inventory management
• Overseeing actuator and robot build labs
• Help debug persistent issues that arise, in the hardware, during robot bring up and testing

• 5+ years of experience in a related industry
• Ability to understand and debug complex mechanical systems
• Ability to tackle problems in which you may not have expert knowledge
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Safety conscious, dependable, and a positive can do attitude
• CAD experience
• CATIA experience (bonus qualification)
• Experience building and debugging robots a plus (bonus qualification)
