About The Position

Knight Piésold is seeking a Mechanical/Process Engineer to support mining and tailings projects involving pumping, piping, slurry transport, and water systems. The Mechanical-Process team designs pump stations, slurry and water pipelines, and associated process, mechanical, hydraulic, piping, and controls systems. The work spans concept studies and feasibility through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning, with selected projects in hydropower and other water infrastructure. The role involves engineering and modeling process water and Newtonian and non-Newtonian slurries, including settling and non-settling transport in pressurized pipelines and open channels. The successful candidate will apply knowledge of turbomachinery and control equipment such as gates, valves, and chokes, relevant U.S. and international codes, and electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems to collaborate effectively with the electrical design team. Work takes place in both office and field environments and may involve domestic and international travel to outdoor project sites, as determined by project needs. Adherence to firm safety standards and MSHA and OSHA requirements is mandatory. Knight Piésold describes itself as a global consulting firm with 100 years of industry experience in mining, environmental, hydropower, and water resources, and highlights teamwork, knowledge-sharing, mentoring, diverse projects, and travel opportunities.
