About The Position

Blair Rubber Co. is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer Co-Op for Spring 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship position within the Plant Operations department, located in Seville, OH. The co-op will gain hands-on experience with an industry leader in manufacturing, contributing to the production of high-quality roofing materials and rubber linings. The company is committed to eco-friendly practices and sustainable production methods. This role offers exposure to different departments to help clarify career interests and potential for future placements or full-time roles upon graduation. The co-op will perform engineering projects, work with the operations team on safety and production initiatives, create work instructions and job hazard analyses, and participate in safety and quality improvements. They will also create layouts and process diagrams, identify hazards, assist in site compliance with corporate process standards, and identify potential product improvements. The work environment is primarily office-based with limited exposure to the production floor, which involves various industrial manufacturing elements. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, specializing in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering program.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering projects utilizing sound design principles
  • Works with operations team to identify and implement safety and production CI initiatives.
  • Create work instructions and perform job hazard analyses for areas on the production floor.
  • Participate in safety improvements for all equipment and continuous quality improvements for processes
  • Creates layouts and process diagrams to support standardization and CI.
  • Identify hazards by analyzing jobs and their associated tasks.
  • Assist in ensuring the site complies with corporate process standards. This includes preparation for the annual corporate process audit and follow-up on all issues raised during the audit.
  • Identifies potential areas of product improvement; recommends and assists with the development of appropriate solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
