About The Position
Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Principal Engineer to support ongoing operations in Greenville, SC and Houston, TX. This role involves providing technical direction, conducting reviews, planning and coordinating engineering projects, and preparing/reviewing calculations and specifications. The engineer will demonstrate design experience in mechanical systems and equipment, and familiarity with computer-aided drafting applications is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
- Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design
- Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required
Nice To Haves
- Nuclear experience preferred
- Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred
- Previous DOE/NNSA work experience
- Professional Engineer License preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction to assigned engineers
- Conduct construction document reviews as required
- Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup
- Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development.
- Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems and equipment design
- Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations, and specifications
