About The Position

Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Principal Engineer to support ongoing operations in Greenville, SC and Houston, TX. This role involves providing technical direction, conducting reviews, and managing projects through various phases of engineering.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design

Nice To Haves

Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred
Previous DOE/NNSA work experience
Professional Engineer License preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction to assigned engineers
Conduct construction document reviews as required
Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup
Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development.
Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems and equipment design
Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations, and specifications
Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required
