About The Position

Barton Malow Company is currently looking for a Mechanical Estimator in our Preconstruction Department. This role involves estimating for HVAC, Ductwork, Piping, Plumbing, air systems sizing, heating and cooling generation equipment sizing, temperature controls, and fire protection systems for large industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of construction and design experience.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of mission critical data center experience.
• Prior knowledge of Microsoft programs is essential.

Nice To Haves

• Prior working knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Winest, WebLEM, BlueBeam and Autobid is a plus.
• On screen take off and Revit modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform take-off and pricing for HVAC, Ductwork, Piping, Plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Perform estimates at different levels including conceptual design, design development, and construction documents.
• Provide general support to Barton Malow’s field operations by reviewing field change orders and assisting in answering contractors’ request for information.
• Support the preconstruction team in the bidding process for general contracts, design-build, and construction management.
• Provide technical support for resolution and tracking project issues.
