About The Position

The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes for mechanical and electromechanical products, with a focus on quality, efficiency, cost, and repeatability. This role applies mechanical engineering expertise and DFO principles to develop tooling, fixtures, equipment, automation, documentation, and process controls that support sustainable low-cost production. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and suppliers to support new product introduction, resolve manufacturing issues, and implement process improvement and new equipment.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree, with BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a professional environment at Engineer level
  • Experience with RF Coil manufacturing or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), OR New Product Introduction (NPI) required
  • Mechanical Aptitude; Demonstration of Solidworks skills
  • Cross-functional leadership, Project / Program Management & Presentation skills
  • Ability to work with intersecting departments (Quality Assurance, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing)
  • Skills in MS365, Teams, PLM Systems, ERP, AI tools, etc.
  • Clear written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task

  • Experience in managing data analysis and trending
  • Experience using Lean Manufacturing, 6s, Value-Stream Mapping and other structured problem solving and planning tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives using structured problem-solving, documentation and communication methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for mechanical and electromechanical products, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, repeatability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with, and coach, Engineering in the designing of products to ensure they meet design for operations (DFO) expectations in areas such as cost, manufacturability, serviceability, sustainability, quality and strategic sourcing.
  • Design, co-design and re-design areas of new and existing products as needed to achieve product, project and business expectations.
  • Fulfill the role of lead operations liaison to NPIs preparing operations for production launch activities, including but not limited to design readiness, supply partner readiness and production readiness.
  • Design and develop manufacturing fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, and other equipment necessary to support efficient and repeatable production.
  • Lead the selection, specification, installation, and qualification of manufacturing equipment, automation, and inspection systems, including evaluation of emerging manufacturing technologies.
  • Create, implement, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, assembly procedures, process flows, equipment requirements, and inspection methods.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance and production data to identify opportunities for improved throughput, labor efficiency, quality, capacity, ergonomics, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Lead technical investigations and root-cause analysis of manufacturing and assembly issues, developing and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing and supplier process controls, including process FMEAs, control plans, process parameters, tolerances, validation activities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing and supply partner personnel, serving as a SME for mechanical assembly processes, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
