About The Position

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment and facilities. This role supports mechanical maintenance disciplines to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient production operations. Maintenance Technicians may specialize in Electrical Maintenance or Mechanical Maintenance, but all work collaboratively to maintain production readiness and equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • Skilled in machine repair, equipment maintenance, or industrial mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret part drawings.
  • Experience with MIG/TIG/stick welding for basic maintenance repairs (brackets, guards, small frames).
  • Torch cutting, and basic machining.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, bearings, chains, belts, and mechanical assemblies.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical maintenance with ability and interest to learn electrical maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Ability to work at heights as required for equipment repair and maintenance., including ladders, platforms, and aerial lifts, while using fall protection equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate or associate degree preferred.
  • Advance welding skills a plus.
  • High Pressure Die Casting Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair mechanical systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drives.
  • Perform maintenance on DCM equipment, fixtures, conveyors, and other manufacturing machinery.
  • Conduct precision alignment, bearing replacement, shaft and coupling repair, and lubrication.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and replace valves, pumps, and cylinders as needed.
  • Fabricate, weld, and machine parts to support maintenance repairs and equipment modification.
  • Assist in the installation, setup, and relocation of machinery and production lines.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance (PM) routines for mechanical assets to ensure uptime.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams on equipment improvement projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures and perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) prior to work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize production disruption.
  • Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support training and cross-functional teamwork across maintenance disciplines.
