Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their operations & maintenance team. This role provides an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on facility systems within a large industrial environment, including clean rooms. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills. Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting industrial facility equipment and systems such as HVAC, compressors, chillers, boilers, robotics, pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, and gearboxes. The role involves performing all aspects of preventive and corrective electrical/mechanical maintenance on facility-related industrial systems, including HVAC, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, filtration systems, and coolant systems. The technician must identify and correct safety issues, perform independent equipment evaluations to predict potential failures, and conduct general maintenance. A strong electrical skill set, including experience with control systems and 480V systems, is required, along with prior experience with air compressors, air dryers, and HVAC systems in a production setting. The role also includes welding, fabricating, plumbing, and hydraulic hose repairs, as well as operating forklifts, hoists, and cranes safely. The technician will respond to customer work orders, provide feedback, ensure compliance with codes and standards, recommend improvements, and analyze/resolve work problems. They will operate various diagnostic and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions and use hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware. Flexibility in daily activities and scheduling is expected while maintaining a strict schedule for assignment success. Other duties may be assigned by management.
