About The Position

First Quality Tissue SE in Anderson SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production and associated equipment to ensure the highest reliability, proper line performance, and safe operation. This role requires the ability to work 12.5-hour swing shifts. The technician will apply principles of "precision" maintenance, coordinate PM programs, and identify and correct potential electrical/mechanical hazards. They will test electromechanical assemblies, read blueprints and schematics, install and repair equipment using various tools, and ensure parts meet specifications. The role also involves analyzing test results, operating metalworking machines, repairing hydraulic/pneumatic systems, training others on robot maintenance, and utilizing a CMMS for work orders and parts procurement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years functional experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of Associates degree and experience in related field required.

Nice To Haves

• Technical degree or apprenticeship certification.
• Maintenance experience in the paper industry or similar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain production and associated equipment to ensure highest reliability, proper line performance, and safe operation.
• Understand and apply the principles and techniques of "precision" maintenance.
• Coordinate PM programs.
• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical/mechanical hazards and take immediate corrective action.
• Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters.
• Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
• Install and repair equipment using soldering, welding, and hand tools.
• Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
• Inspect parts for surface defects.
• Analyze and record test results, and prepare written testing documentation.
• Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures.
• Repair, rework, or calibrate hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances.
• Train others to repair, use, or maintain robots.
• Assist engineers in testing and troubleshooting robotics equipment.
• Use CMMS Maintenance System to document work orders and procure parts.
