The Mechanical Maintenance Technician at the APEX Power Co. Project plays a critical role in ensuring reliability and efficiency of plant operations at a multi-technology facility. Supports preventive, routine, and predictive maintenance programs, utilizing CMMS to collect and analyze data for operational decisions. Troubleshoots and repairs critical mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, fans, gearboxes, turbines, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety during planned outages. Collaborating with team members, promotes plant reliability and efficiency while supervising contractors to maintain safety and quality standards. As Mechanical Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities specific to the Pre-Commissioning Phase include the following functions: Participate in orientation and hands-on training for turbines, reciprocating engines, auxiliary mechanical systems, and BESS equipment, while learning operational sequences, safety procedures, and plant maintenance protocols. Inspect, calibrate, and test mechanical systems, components, and support equipment, verifying readiness, alignment, interlocks, and operational functionality to support cold and hot commissioning activities. Assist commissioning engineers and technical teams with system startups, functional testing, and problem resolution, ensuring all mechanical systems perform reliably and according to design specifications. Record test results, observations, and equipment status; coordinate activities with contractors, vendors, and internal teams; and implement safe work practices to maintain compliance and minimize risk during pre-commissioning. Your scope of responsibility as Mechanical Maintenance Technician includes the following primary functions: Participate in the plant’s preventive, routine, and predictive maintenance programs by performing scheduled tasks, utilizing CMMS, and collecting/analyzing trending data to support reliability and operational decisions. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical equipment issues, applying timely and effective resolutions to maintain safe and efficient plant operations. Maintain, repair, and overhaul mechanical systems and components, including pumps, valves, fans, gearboxes, compressors, turbines, and associated auxiliary equipment. Support planned shutdowns, outages, and repairs by inspecting equipment, diagnosing issues, and performing necessary mechanical tasks safely and efficiently. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and operations personnel to execute maintenance tasks, share knowledge, and enhance overall plant performance, reliability, and safety. Assist in developing and refining preventive maintenance procedures to ensure they are comprehensive, effective, and aligned with turbine, engine, and BESS operations. Coordinate and schedule outage-related mechanical work, ensuring efficient resource allocation, minimizing operational disruptions, and supervising contractors or outside technicians as needed. Install mechanical systems and components, including piping and support structures, to support plant upgrades, modifications, and new equipment integration. Monitor equipment operating conditions using meters, gauges, vibration analysis, and other diagnostic instrumentation, interpreting data to identify performance issues and guide corrective actions. Maintain spare parts inventory, technical documentation, plant records, and shop equipment, including operating manuals, drawings, maintenance logs, tools, and specialized instrumentation, ensuring proper storage, accessibility, and support of mechanical maintenance and operational reliability. Perform additional maintenance and support tasks as assigned, ensuring plant reliability and operational success.
