About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join their team in Mossville, IL. This role is responsible for providing a high level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive as well as corrective maintenance on facility mechanical equipment and systems in an industrial, manufacturing, and office environment. The technician must have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and plumbing, with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, etc. Additionally, the role requires the ability to learn and work safely with 3-phase power up to 480V, identify and correct safety issues, and perform independent equipment evaluations to prevent potential failures. General maintenance of equipment will also be a part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • This position will require overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays, and alternative work schedules.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.
  • May be required to work holidays and weekends.
  • Must be willing to cover on call work rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs blowers, pumps, and fans.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs heat exchange equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs high pressure (10,000 psi) hydraulic equipment.
  • Performs pipefitting repairs.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.
  • Relocates machines/fixtures, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintains a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
  • New hires are required to serve on the safety committee during their first year of employment.
