2nd shift Mechanical Maintenance Specialist
About The Position
The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining buildings to ensure they function in a quality manner. This includes completing all work in a timely manner according to client requirements, making necessary repairs on buildings and equipment, and meeting all quality and productivity metrics. The role requires strong teamwork and collaboration, effective communication with external vendors and contractors, and the ability to learn and perform routine and non-routine duties independently. The specialist will diagnose problems, suggest solutions, stay updated on professional developments, and assist with projects and emergent repairs. Key tasks include installing new equipment, servicing the Automated Storage Retrieval System (ASRS), administering preventative maintenance, and providing general assistance to the supervisor. All activities must be conducted safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of Mechanical experience in one of the mentioned fields: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or a closely related experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining buildings so they function in a quality manner.
- Completing all work in a timely manner according to the clients’ requirements.
- Making necessary repairs on buildings and equipment.
- Meeting all quality and productivity metrics.
- Demonstrating strong teamwork and collaboration.
- Effectively communicating with external vendors and contractors as applicable to request quotes and/or complete projects.
- Learning and performing routine and non-routine duties independently to execute with minimal guidance.
- Diagnosing problems and suggesting possible solutions.
- Keeping abreast of current developments and trends in professional area.
- Understanding technical knowledge or skills not easily or quickly learned on the job.
- Demonstrating and maintaining awareness of innovations and progress in respective field(s).
- Assisting with projects in a timely manner.
- Installing new equipment and repairing minor to critical campus equipment.
- Assisting with projects and responding to emergent repairs.
- Servicing Automated Storage Retrieval System (ASRS).
- Administering preventative maintenance.
- Giving general assistance to supervisor.
- Trash handling.
- Communicating effectively with clients and staff members.
- Conducting all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
