About The Position

Applied Technical Services (ATS) is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with at least five years of experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation. The role supports the design, analysis, testing, and validation of mechanical systems and structures, with a focus on structural, thermal, fatigue, and vibration analyses. The position is located in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, North Carolina, near the I-485 Outer Loop. The consultant will develop and analyze 3D models and assemblies, evaluate mechanical performance and integrity, validate analytical models, and provide engineering recommendations. The role supports product development from concept through manufacturing and field implementation, and involves preparing technical reports, reviewing designs against standards and best practices, investigating mechanical failures, and collaborating with internal teams and customers. ATS provides testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services across multiple industries. The company was founded in 1967, is headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, and employs nearly 2,100 team members at more than 95 locations across the United States. Applicants must be U.S. Persons because the role may provide access to information subject to ITAR export controls. Applicants must also pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
