Mechanical Inspector 2 - Day Shift
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers leading-edge support from prototype to production. The Mechanical Inspector 2 is responsible for performing precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification. This role involves basic blueprint reading and shop math (Trigonometry), inspecting first-off parts from manufacturing work centers, collecting measurement data for First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and collecting and providing data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs).
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business.
- Proficiency with hand tools & measuring tools.
- Basic blueprint reading.
- Thorough knowledge of GD&T.
- CMM operation required.
- Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards.
Responsibilities
- Performing precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification.
- Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers.
- Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
- Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs).
