About The Position

FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers leading-edge support from prototype to production. This position is for Swing Shift – Monday thru Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with potential for overtime. The role is responsible for performing precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business.
Thorough knowledge of GD&T.
CMM operation required.
Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards.

Responsibilities

Perform precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification.
Basic blueprint reading & shop math (Trigonometry).
Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers.
Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs).
