About The Position

The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for accurate takeoffs for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects valued up to seven figures. The scope of work may include HVAC, plumbing, process piping, fire protection, and some electrical estimates.

The employer is a family-owned mechanical contractor serving a wide range of industries. Its services include process piping, commercial construction, water and wastewater, plumbing and heating, service and repair, and fire protection.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of estimating experience with a commercial mechanical subcontractor.
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in software and tools.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred in lieu of trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate takeoffs for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
• Read specifications and bid documents.
• Prepare and submit requests for information (RFIs).
• Attend walkthroughs and job inspections.
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors.
• Maintain estimating software as required.
• Estimate work involving HVAC, plumbing, process piping, fire protection, and some electrical systems.
