Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, student-centered advising to prospective and current Mechanical Engineering students, including guidance on program admission, degree requirements, course sequencing, electives, emphases, minors, and petitions.
• Support student success through individualized academic planning, registration assistance, and proactive outreach to students, including those on academic warning or probation.
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of student records and program information, including graduation application reviews, transfer and course equivalencies, catalog updates, MAP reviews, and advising systems.
• Lead and coordinate key advising initiatives such as new student orientation, classroom presentations, faculty advisor assignments, graduate school preparation events, and admissions processes for the professional program.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to deliver a cohesive advising experience, while connecting students with internships, research opportunities, wellness resources, and student engagement activities.
• Participate in departmental committees and student engagement efforts to strengthen connection and community within the Mechanical Engineering program.
• Stay current on curriculum, policies, and advising best practices through training, campus meetings, and professional development opportunities.
