The Florist at Campus Floral is responsible for creating high-quality floral designs, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting daily retail operations. This role requires creativity, efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while supporting student learning and shop systems. Requirements

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Minimum 1 year of retail floral design experience preferred.
  • Experience designing everyday vase arrangements, floral baskets, sympathy/funeral work, and wedding florals.
  • Strong knowledge of flower care and design mechanics.
  • Ability to design efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable using POS systems and floral wire services.
  • Ability to lift and move floral containers and boxes (up to 30 lbs).
  • Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays, especially during peak floral seasons.
  • Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce daily floral orders including vase arrangements, floral baskets, sympathy and funeral pieces, plants, and wedding florals.
  • Process and condition flowers from wholesale vendors (hydration, trimming, storage, rotation).
  • Place and manage daily floral and supply orders as needed.
  • Take customer orders in person and over the phone with professionalism and product knowledge.
  • Process wire service orders (BloomNation, FTD, Teleflora) accurately and on time.
  • Assist and mentor student florists in floral design techniques and Campus Floral shop systems.
  • Prepare orders for delivery and customer pickup.
  • Support delivery staff to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of coolers, workstations, and retail displays.
  • Track inventory of flowers, vases, and hard goods.
  • Operate POS system and handle transactions as needed.
  • Assist with holiday and peak-season production planning.
  • Follow all safety, care, and handling procedures.
