This part-time position (28 hours/week) involves providing complete planning and design services related to interior design improvements of existing facilities on the BYU campus. Under the direction of a BYU Senior Interior Designer or Interior Design Manager, the role also acts as Owner’s Representative on projects for new construction or large remodels where an outside Architect/Design Consultant has been contracted for the design of the facility. The planning and design services include meeting with clients and consultants, conducting studies, preparing cost estimates, preliminary plans and working drawings, specification preparation, preparing project approval forms, assisting with project inspections, approving shop drawings, developing color schemes and interior finish standards for campus (including upholstery, paint, floor coverings, window coverings, wall coverings, etc.), providing consultants with direction and feedback, and monitoring project budgets.
