Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Section Head who will be responsible for technical quality control, financial success, and managing staff for the section at the local level.

Responsibilities

Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
Manage financial budget for the section and allocate resources accordingly
Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
Oversee the work of technical staff to ensure quality and completeness
Establish resources staffing needs for the section
Interview and hire staff for the section
Actively monitor project progress and staff utilization and allocate resources to projects to optimize utilization and meet all deliverable deadlines
Proactively resolve project conflicts with clients, contractors, and other design disciplines
Provide input to the Practice Area Leader for improvement of tools and processes
Aid the Practice Area Leader in the enforcement of quality standards
Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team.
Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
Perform other related duties as assigned
