Packsize is seeking a part-time Mechanical Engineering Intern for the remainder of the school year to clean up backend data for CAD assembly models and drawings. These models represent the designs and bills of materials for automated packing machines. The position is intended for a student in a mechanical engineering program at a local college or university and offers scheduling flexibility around classes and tests. The anticipated workload is 10–20 hours per week; if the position continues into the summer, a 40-hour work week is anticipated. This is an in-person position, and training will be provided where needed. The intern will work with CAD models and drawings for large industrial machines, checking and validating their integrity and producing different formats. Packsize describes its mission as reducing excessive packaging through right-sized packaging systems, software, and services, with the aim of reducing supply-chain carbon emissions and fuel needs.
