This specific opportunity is for a Mechanical Engineering student to join the Tactical Radars & Land Based Effectors Department in Fullerton, California. This department supports hardware development, production, and deployment of defense products for Tactical Radars, Effectors, Command and Control Systems, and Naval Systems. The products serve domestic US Government customers across various forces and agencies, as well as international customers. This is an on-site role in Fullerton, California, for Summer 2027.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience with CREO
  • Experience in CAD software.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

  • Application of mechanical engineering fundamentals to challenging design problems.
  • Creation or updates of technical documentation packages.
  • Complete drawing designs as required, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects.
  • Collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
  • Mechanical engineering design utilizing CAD software.
  • Support to manufacturing and production.
  • Application of Raytheon hardware design processes and tools.
