About The Position

RTX is offering an internship opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering intern to join their Tactical Radars & Land Based Effectors Department in Tucson, Arizona. This department supports the hardware development, production, and deployment of various defense products for Tactical Radars, Effectors, Command and Control Systems, and Naval Systems. The products serve domestic US Government customers across multiple Forces and Agencies, as well as international customers. This is an on-site role located in Tucson, Arizona, for Summer 2027.

Requirements

Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or related (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Experience with CREO
Experience in CAD software.
Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
DoD Clearance: Secret
Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Application of mechanical engineering fundamentals to challenging design problems.
Creation or updates of technical documentation packages.

Mechanical engineering design utilizing CAD software.
Support to manufacturing and production.
Application of Raytheon hardware design processes and tools.
