Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with a project team and assist in the design of building mechanical system (plumbing, fire protection and HVAC) projects for our Peoria, IL office for Summer 2027. Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar equivalent
• 0 -2 years of experience
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous internship with a consulting engineering firm, a plus
• Certification as an Engineering Intern (NCEES) and experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• The position requires a strong technical background, excellence in design, attention to detail and quality control, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Job duties include the preparation of mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets for building mechanical and utility distribution systems under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.
• The candidate should be able to work in diverse teams and be successful interacting with project team members, clients and contractors.
• Written and oral communication and organizational skills are important throughout the design and construction process.
