About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with a project team and assist in the design of building mechanical system (plumbing, fire protection and HVAC) projects for our Peoria, IL office for Summer 2027. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar equivalent
  • 0 -2 years of experience
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship with a consulting engineering firm
  • Certification as an Engineering Intern (NCEES)
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets for building mechanical and utility distribution systems under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to work in diverse teams and interact successfully with project team members, clients and contractors.
  • Utilize written and oral communication and organizational skills throughout the design and construction process.
