About The Position
Peter Basso Associates Inc., a leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consulting firm, is in search of Mechanical Engineering Co-Ops to join our team in Troy, Michigan. Our Co-Op program has been designed to allow college students a hands-on learning experience with an accurate view into the field of engineering design for building systems. Our collaborative design process enables the team to evaluate system options in the context of the entire project, optimizing performance and minimizing cost. As a member of our team, you will work with a variety of architectural firms, contractors and facility owner clients. We value a shared enthusiasm for the building trades industry, being comfortable and confident interacting with a wide cross-section of professionals and skilled trades.
Requirements
- Working toward a Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering
- An interest in Architectural Engineering/Engineering Design
- 2.7 GPA or higher
- Students must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college, pursuing an undergraduate degree in the mechanical or electrical engineering field
- Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of engineering fundamentals.
Nice To Haves
- AutoCAD or Revit experience is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to engineers and designers with design projects.
- Work in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software on building design and/or renovation projects.
- Prepare calculations for a variety of building systems.
- Accompany engineers on project site visits to assist in preparing field surveys and dimensioning of existing systems.
