About The Position

ARCO/Murray Engineering is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering Design team based in Downers Grove, Illinois. This role will be responsible for guiding the full mechanical scope and leading the development of mechanical and plumbing systems in support of design/build projects that will range from Entertainment, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Industrial, Commercial, to Manufacturing facilities. Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years of mechanical and/or plumbing design experience
  • Bachelor-level degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field
  • Experience using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and design principles for mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process for mechanical and plumbing systems for a variety of building types from controlled agriculture, waste to value, industrial, manufacturing, to large scale commercial
  • Guide and review the design from concept design all the way to turnover and operation
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, standards, and project requirements in the development of mechanical and plumbing systems design
  • Use ASHRAE approved calculation methods to perform load calculations for various project/building types
  • Coordinate with design and construction team to ensure the final deliverable meets the client criteria
  • Generate permit and construction documents using 3D modeling software like Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Participate in project pursuits and conceptual design to assist in displaying the value of the design/build approach
  • Assist the project team during construction to review any RFIs, submittals, and field challenges
  • Participate in the development of standards, procedures, and training programs for the group
