As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be part of our Systems Engineering team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to: Responsible for becoming intimately familiar with the makeup and function of Automated, Semi-Automated and Manual Nelson Stud Welding systems, Investigate and recommend cost effective improvements. Designs, develops and updates mechanical systems employed in the company’s products and equipment for new applications, systems improvements, and cost savings. Participate in new/existing product launches via FMEA, DVP&R, 8D Methodology. Utilizes DFMEA to capture lessons learned for future usage and drive product improvement activities. Provides expert assistance to Nelson manufacturing and repair personnel for trouble-shooting malfunctions in components and systems. Responsible for contact with mechanical tooling components sources for verification of test and performance requirements; assists purchasing and quality control in resolving technical questions or difficulties. Coordinates the specification and build of complete systems to meet customer requirements. Provides technical assistance in mechanical matters to internal and external customers as required. Utilizes Finite Element Analysis & Computational Fluid Dynamics to mathematically model systems as required. Provides expert assistance to other areas as directed and performs all other duties as assigned. Able to travel 10% or less and on a global scale.
