About The Position
The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Mechanical Engineer, Nunavut Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Senior Engineer, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.
Requirements
- Five (5) years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering, with focus on designing, maintenance and execution of brownfield projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc in Mechanical Engineering) or a related discipline, as determined by the company.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG), or ability to transfer.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microstation, CAM and Matlab/LabVIEW.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, design, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machines, tools, and equipment using CAD and engineering best practices.
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance analysis of mechanical components and systems, including dynamics and vibration assessments.
- Conducts verification and certification of equipment installations to ensure adherence to mechanical engineering design specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Prepare technical documentation such as material handling packages, specifications, data sheets, and vendor evaluations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, estimate maintenance costs, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review and approve designs, calculations, and cost estimates, while supporting proposal and feasibility work.
- Develop maintenance programs, mentor technical staff, and ensure adherence to B2Gold Nunavut’s engineering procedures and standards.
