About The Position

DLR Group is an integrated design firm seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This role involves the design of mechanical systems from schematics through construction administration for a variety of building types. The Mechanical Engineer will be part of integrated design teams, contributing to the creation of buildings that elevate the human experience through design. Responsibilities include participating in the design process of mechanical building systems, preparing detailed engineering calculations and drawings to code, and assisting in developing project objectives and documentation policies. The position is located in Orlando, FL.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
0-5 years of experience in a MEP firm working on commercial/public projects.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection building systems on complex projects.

Nice To Haves

Licensed Professional Engineer.
LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
Energy modeling experience in both Trace 700 and IESVE.
Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) work flow.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
Develop HVAC, plumbing and fire protection designs from concept through completion of construction.
Prepare engineering design calculations and mechanical system layouts.
Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
Coordinate HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design requirements with architecture, structure and other disciplines.
