This Mechanical Engineer (Entry Level) position is located at our Lowell, MA facility.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • Prior Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite of products including Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Familiarity with machine tools and processes.
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Analysis tools (Ansys, ProMechanica or similar)
  • Superior problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-guided, can work well on their own as well as a team player.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creativity and Analytical skills
  • Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, Labview, etc.)
  • Outstanding organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems by reviewing customer requirements and developing products that will meet the objectives of the company and the customer.
  • Provide Engineering support and aid manufacturing when necessary to facilitate optimal quality in form fit and function related to the design and mechanical fit.
  • Able to write effectively, update specifications, communicate internally and externally in an effective manner.
  • Coordinate and implement change orders for product updates and new releases.
  • Solicit observations from operators to improve the design and quality of the product.
  • Estimate budgets and time scopes for projects
  • Support the design and product development through the creation of mechanical drawings and specifications used for work instructions, identifies proper hardware, adhesives, performs design rule checks for part fit, clearance, and manufacturability.
  • Labels all product documentation properly and supports accepted design guidelines and customer specifications.
  • Support qualifications of programs working with both internal and external customer teams as well as contracted outside services to conduct various qualification testing, vibration, shock, etc. and other relevant tests as required by program.
  • Support the assessment of mechanical loads, torsion, camber, vibration dissipation, absorption of shock, etc.
  • Will communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner when developing product documentation for use in manufacturing or test.
  • Interpret customer requests pertaining to mechanical fit and our ability to meet the requested specifications.
  • Advise senior management of risks and alternative designs when applicable.
